George Colman – Portfolio Manager
Industry experience: 33 years. Company tenure: 9 years

Before co-founding ARCO Investment Management (originally Optimal Australia), George was a Managing Director in the Equity Research Division of Citigroup Australia from 1998-2007. George was a career securities analyst, commencing in that role after a short stint in the bond market in 1984, and has had coverage across a wide variety of industry sectors. He has served as Non-Executive Director of AP Eagers Ltd (APE.ASX) for ten years to 1999, a period of substantial restructuring and growth for that company. George holds a B.Comm (First class Honours) Degree from the University of Melbourne, a DSIA, and NYSE/NASDAQ Series 7 qualifications.

  

 

Stephen Nicholls – Senior Investment Analyst
Industry experience: 33 years. Company tenure: 7 years

Prior to joining ARCO Investment Management, Stephen was as a Director in the Equities Division of Citigroup Australia from 1998-2010, with functional responsibility for equity sales. Also a securities and investment veteran, he commenced his career in foreign exchange risk management with Rio Tinto, and then served as an investment analyst and portfolio manager with BHP and RACV Funds. Stephen holds B.Comm and Masters (Applied Finance) Degrees from the University of Melbourne.

 

Bruce Loveday – Chairman
Industry experience: 40 years. Company tenure: 1 year

Bruce has extensive experience in the financial services industry in Australia and overseas. He has been CEO of two funds management businesses and has held senior executive positions in banking, mining, institutional stockbroking, asset consulting and investor relations. He is chairman of Burnham Capital and was Chairman of Bennelong Funds Management Ltd from 2010 to 2014. He was also Chairman of the ASX-listed Praemium Ltd from 2012 to 2016 and he also chairs the Advisory Board for the Tribeca Global Natural Resources Fund. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree from Monash University and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

Peter Whiting – Portfolio Manager
Industry experience: 34 years. Company tenure: 9 years

Prior to co-founding ARCO Investment Management (originally, Optimal Australia), Peter served as a Managing Director in the Equities Division of Citigroup Australia from 1998-2008, and as an Executive Committee member, with overall responsibility for Sales Trading. Peter also advised leading Australian and international equity fund portfolio managers on portfolio construction and stock selection and chaired the Securities Derivatives Industry Association’s (SDIA) Equity Trading Advisory Group between 2001 and 2004. Peter’s risk management and trading skills were originally developed as an operator on the ASX trading floor, and then in equities trading a number of roles. Peter holds a Diploma of Financial Markets (SIA) and various professional qualifications: PS146 (SDIA)

 

Sook Fun Chan – Chief Administration Officer
Industry experience: 31 years. Company tenure: 8 years

Sook Fun Chan oversees all our internal Fund administration, accounting and reconciliation processes. Sook Fun joined ARCO Investment Management in 2009, and has over twenty years relevant professional experience in Singapore and Australia. Prior to moving to Australia, she was COO, Elixir Financial, a hedge fund start-up in Singapore. Sook Fun previously worked with ABN AMRO Asia Securities, Singapore between 1992 and 2007, latterly as COO and a Director. She holds a B. Accountancy Degree, National University of Singapore, and is a CPA Member in Australia and Singapore.

 

Jason Huddy – Executive Director
Industry experience: 28 years. Company tenure: 1 year
Jason joined ARCO in 2016 with responsibility for the distribution and marketing functions of the business.
Jason began his career in 1988, initially with the National Mutual Group before moving to Macquarie Group in 1994 where he worked across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. During this time, his responsibilities included developing and growing investor markets for Macquarie’s range of investment funds and platforms and also developing distribution partnerships with select investment managers external to the group. In 2011, Jason joined National Australia Bank, initially in its Debt Markets business before moving to lead the distribution function for NAB Asset Management in 2014. Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia and is a graduate of the Securities Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
